Dzoras Footbridge: Let’s restore the ‘King of the Bisses’!

Imagine a 32-kilometre walking trail running alongside the longest bisse in Valais, offering breathtaking views and a complete immersion in nature. Well, believe it or not, this jewel of Valais’s heritage is right here in our beautiful region. Indeed, the Bisse de Saxon stretches from Siviez (Nendaz) to the Col des Planches (Saxon), passing through Isérables and La Tzoumaz.

Why restore it?

Because a rockslide that occurred over 10 years ago at a place known as ‘Les Dzoras’ currently forces walkers to bypass the landslide via a very steep and rugged path.

The only solution to make this section safe and restore this main walking route to its former glory is to build a 110-metre-long footbridge over the rockfall.

Funding for the works

Between December 2024 and January 2025, a crowdfunding campaign was launched by the association Les Amis du Bisse, which is leading the project. Thanks to the interest and support of numerous contributors, a significant sum was raised. What a success! However, fundraising must continue in order to reach the total target of CHF 1.27 million.

It’s not too late to contribute!

Did you miss the crowdfunding campaign on WeMakeIt? Would you like to support the completion of this project or simply be part of the adventure? Nothing could be simpler! You can make a donation at any time to the account below:
