Fishing in La Tzoumaz at Lac des Vaux and along the Fare

Lac des Vaux is a small natural lake with crystal-clear waters, situated at an altitude of 2,543 metres above La Tzoumaz and Verbier.

Rainbow trout and cristivomers can be found there. A range of fishing techniques can be practised here, such as fly fishing (preferably in the morning before the wind picks up), fishing with grasshoppers and natural bait, spoon fishing or fishing with wobblers.

It is best to get there by leaving your car at the Col de la Croix de Coeur (a 5 km walk, ~450 m elevation gain) – a journey taking around 1½ hours. It can also be reached from La Tzoumaz, but the ascent is more challenging (a 5.5 km walk, 950 m elevation gain), taking 3 hours.

It is also possible to fish along the River Fare
